TIL Badass of the Week: Lachhiman Gurung -- After a grenade exploded in his right hand Gurung was left bleeding, partially blinded and one armed. Then he grabbed his rifle, chambered a round, and shouted, "Now come and fight a Gurkha!". Killed 31 Japanese soldiers in 4 hours that night.

mxwJO TIL about the Canadian HMCS Haida, which became known as "The Fightingest Ship in the Navy" after sinking 14 German ships and submarines in just over a year during WW2. The Haida went on to take part in the Korean War, and now serves as a museum ship and national historic site in Canada.
