TIL: Gigantopithecus blacki was the largest ape ever recorded. The first fossils were discovered after being on sale in a pharmacist in Hong Kong, listed as, "dragon bones/teeth". It's estimated that they weighed between 300 - 500kg and reached 3m in height.
