TIL a library in Herculaneum was burned and buried in 79 AD when Mt. Vesuvius erupted. For 250+ years, scholars have been unrolling/attempting to decipher recovered manuscripts from the only antiquarian library ever recovered. The site was never fully excavated; it is assumed more are still buried.

ANPBw TIL in 1970, Sly and the Family Stone cancelled 26 of their 80 concerts and numerous others started late. In January 1975, the band booked itself at Radio City Music Hall in New York. The music hall was only one-eighth occupied, and Stone had to scrape together money to return home.

Their tent was found ripped open from the inside and although the corpses showed no signs of struggle, two victims had fractured skulls, two had broken ribs, and one was missing her tongue. Only their footprints were present.
