TIL former supreme court justice James McReynolds was blatantly anti-Semitic. He refused to speak to Louis Brandeis, the first Jewish member of the Court, for three years & habitually left the conference room whenever Brandeis spoke. He also left the courtroom whenever a female lawyer argued a case.
