TIL the 2nd deadliest day for law enforcement in the U.S. was a 1917 bomb attack that killed nine Milwaukee police officers. The original target was a local church but a boy discovered the suspicious package and brought it to the police department, where it exploded. (The deadliest day was 9/11.)
