TIL in 1943, a bomber named the "Lady Be Good" became lost in a storm while coming from Italy and crashed into the Sahara desert. The surviving crew tried to walk to safety, but died during their trek. It took until 1958 for the plane to be found and until 1960 until the bodies were located.
