TIL the Minnesota Twins moved to Minneapolis one year after the Minneapolis Lakers left for LA. The Twins used the name of the state because they didn't want to alienate potential fans in St. Paul. At first, they were to be named the Twin Cities Twins, but MLB objected to that name.
