Coffee was so important in Turkish culture that under 15th-century law, a woman had the freedom to divorce her husband if he didn't provide her with enough coffee ☕
Coffee shops were opened all around Constantinople (modern day Istanbul) in the 15th century, and they became the focal point for people's gatherings, political debates, and discussions.

The Ottoman Turks mastered the art of coffee making, preparing it with cinnamon, anise, cardamon, and cloves. This spicy version is still available in some places in Turkey.

The beverage became so deeply incorporated into the Turkish culture, that women were given the right to divorce her husband if he didn't provide her with enough coffee.

Sounds crazy, but any coffee lover would understand!
