Hans Zimmer has written some of the most iconic soundtracks of the last few decades, but one theme he composed has completely eluded quite a few people.

As uncovered by BBC Radio 4 this morning (March 31), the man behind epic scores for blockbusters like Inception, Gladiator and The Dark Knight also wrote the theme to... Going For Gold.

Yep, the British TV game show, which ran between 1987 and 1996 and was briefly revived in the late 2000s, had its ridiculously catchy - theme tune composed by Zimmer.

However, some people can't quite handle this fact:

Going for Gold saw contestants from different European countries compete against each other to answer questions for a grand prize, under the watchful eye of host Henry Kelly.

The show was a '90s lunchtime hit for the BBC, and John Suchet hosted a brief revival on Channel 5 between 2008 and 2009.

Zimmer told The Guardian in 2014 of his work on the show: "I'm not ashamed of it! It paid the rent and opened up all sorts of doors.

"I will admit to it: we all have to have our guilty little somethings!"

He is due to embark on a tour of 30 European cities, starting in the UK, to play his most famous works.

Another Zimmer fact you may not know - the only Oscar he has ever won was for his score to The Lion King.

We hope he goes for gold (and wins) again at some point in the future.
