Before he went on to star in movies like Pulp Fiction, A Time to Kill, the Star Wars prequels and the many Marvel movies he’s appeared in as Nick Fury, Samuel L. Jackson reportedly worked as a stand-in for Bill Cosby on The Cosby Show.
In light of that background, on Thursday night’s Watch What Happens Live, host Andy Cohen wanted to know what Jackson thought about the recent wave of rape allegations that have been made against Cosby.
More than two dozen women have accused the comedian of sexually assaulting and/or drugging them, several of whom said the incidents happened during Cosby’s time starring on his eponymous NBC sitcom.
Jackson declined to weigh in on whether or not Cosby is guilty, saying “I can’t make a judgment about it.”
But he added, “I wish that [Cosby] would say something.”
The comedian has remained silent since the flood of allegations began this past fall.
But Jackson agreed that powerful men do take advantage of women.
“I make my judgment because I have a daughter, I have a wife I love and I have a lot of women in my life,” he said. “And I know women are vulnerable in this society and people with power take advantage of them.”
Watch Jackson’s comments, included in a Yahoo! video report, below.
