Former NBA player used long arms to save dolphin
Chris Strauss, USA TODAY Sports
Sacramento Kings assistant coach Clifford Ray played in the NBA for ten years, helping the Golden State Warriors win a title in 1975. Yet one of the strangest odysseys of Ray's career happened in 1978, when the 6-9 forward was summoned by a local aquarium to use his long arms to retrieve a swallowed screw from a dolphin's stomach.
The 64-year-old recently retold the story to USA TODAY Sports.
